BiliTools is an open-source alternative to proprietary Bilibili downloaders and media scrapers. It serves as a cross-platform toolbox for downloading and managing a wide variety of content from the Bilibili platform, including videos, audio, and detailed metadata. The application is available as a desktop install for Windows, macOS, and Linux, providing a centralized interface for media archival.

The software operates by parsing resources based on the user account provided. This means access to specific content, such as high-resolution videos or member-only resources, depends on the permissions and subscriptions associated with the logged-in account. To facilitate this, the tool supports multiple authentication methods including QR code, password, and SMS login, while also handling parameter signing and fingerprint verification to maintain connectivity with the platform.

Key features

  • Downloads videos in 4K, 8K, HDR, and Dolby Vision formats
  • Extracts audio in lossless FLAC and 320Kbps formats
  • Saves subtitles in SRT format and danmaku in ASS or XML formats
  • Scrapes NFO metadata for collections, series, and single episodes
  • Downloads user posts, articles, and dynamic content
  • Exports AI summaries from the Bilibili AI assistant in Markdown
  • Supports clipboard monitoring for faster resource linking
  • Includes an integrated audio to MP3 converter
  • Filters PCDN to optimize download speeds

Built with Tauri, the application utilizes a Rust backend and a Vue.js frontend to maintain a lightweight footprint. It integrates aria2 for multi-protocol download management and FFmpeg for multimedia processing and conversion. For danmaku processing, it utilizes DanmakuFactory to convert XML formats to ASS. Local data, including history and settings, is stored in plain text using an SQLite database located in the user's application support directory on the respective operating system. The tool is designed for users who want to archive their favorite Bilibili content and manage media metadata locally for offline viewing.

BiliTools is positioned as a technical utility for personal archiving and learning.
