FileRise

FileRise is a self-hosted web application that serves as a file manager and storage hub. It allows users to organize files and folders through a browser-based interface, providing tools for uploading, sharing, and managing data on their own infrastructure. The application functions as a centralized point for data management, enabling the organization of documents and media without relying on external cloud providers.

The software is deployed as a PHP application and is recommended for use via Docker, though it can run on standard PHP web servers. It is designed for various use cases, such as acting as a personal cloud drive, a client portal for receiving files, or a centralized workspace for managing multiple storage backends. It supports local storage and can connect to external sources via WebDAV to aggregate files from different locations into one interface.

The system is designed to run behind reverse proxies like Nginx, Traefik, Caddy, or Apache and is optimized to handle large directory trees with over 100,000 folders without impacting UI performance. It also includes a CLI scanner for monitoring disk usage and per-volume breakdowns.
