Peekaping

Peekaping is an open-source, self-hosted web app and server that provides uptime monitoring for websites, APIs, and various backend services, offering real-time alerts and public status pages. The software is deployed as a server and is available via Docker, allowing users to maintain full control over their monitoring data and infrastructure.

Built with Golang and React, the system focuses on performance and automation. It is designed for DevOps teams that require a programmatic approach to monitoring, allowing for integration into CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code workflows through its API-first design. This architecture ensures that every function within the system is accessible programmatically, removing the limitations often found in GUI-only monitoring tools.

The architecture uses a modular server written in Golang to ensure low RAM and CPU consumption, which is critical when monitoring a large volume of services. Additionally, a community Terraform provider is available to help automate the deployment and configuration of monitors as part of a broader infrastructure strategy.

Peekaping is currently in beta and is positioned as a high-performance monitoring tool for teams that need an extensible, API-driven tool.
